Why CHELSEA?

Why Chelsea?

Why do you support Chelsea? This was my Pavithra’s question from the beginning of our courtship when she started to observe that Chelsea is my part and parcel in Football.

If you are in the UK, the choice of whom to support may not be that difficult. You could live in Manchester and support Man City or live in Merseyside and support Everton or your family could be supporting a certain club which you grow up watching and supporting. Mostly, you could start supporting a club even before you can start appreciating football.

For the premier league fans outside UK, there should be a trigger to start supporting a club. What could be that trigger? This might sound strange for me but I need find an answer for this as the question was raised by my wife.

Our nation is so cricket-frenzy that the fans and media had no time or money for any other sport. It is only after the satellite channels started televising the premier league and la liga matches, the game really geared up in India.

When I was in school, college I could not remember even one conversation that was about football. But after my degree it was in my SSB interview that was a turning point in my life.

The Lt. Col asked me in the interview.

Lt. Col: Do u like Football?

Me: Yes.

Who is your Favorite in this year EPL?

Me: (I knew only about Manchester United at that time. But it didn’t appear to me that it will be a “penalty kick”) I like Manchester United, Sir.

L: So you like Red Devils!! Cool man!!! So who is your favourite player? Beckham?

Me: (In total confusion plus happiness that he won’t screw me for players’ names) Yes.

Next comes the Twist ….

Lt. Col:  I know you can tell his position as a midfielder but I am going to ask one last question! he is rgt footer or left footer ?  and where he plays from rgt ot left ?

Me :- !@#$%^&*((((()(*&^%$#@!   I guess he is a right footer.

Lt Col:  Great, Vijay … Thanks for your time …. All the best …

I never expected the interview will turn in this way …. Yes as you think I am not selected that year. So for the next year I decided my game plan so I went to meet my junior Willy who was a foot ball player in my college. He introduced me to the world of food ball. Then I started watching football in. Still I was not really following football as such.  Willy taught me the concepts, the methods, introduced me to the game’s personalities, the styles and everything. If I remember right, I like FIGO at that time and he was in Real Madrid at that time.

So then, I started watching the weekend football matches on TV. Normally, they would show all matches of Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. They show the matches of the other teams only if the slots did not clash with that of the top three. Being an UPSC aspirant, I started following the game through the newspapers. Following as in, reading the news and rumours, By this way I tried to improve my English (it never worked out that is a different story; still my wife is my editor-in-chief). I generally have this tendency to support teams/players who have the passion in them . Like the rest of the world, I did take notice of a blue team fight with passion. Right, I mean Chelsea. Jose Mourinho was the manager for Blues at that time. I truly admired him, still admire him. It was because of passion , I started following Chelsea. And then I started supporting Chelsea. I do not know from which moment on, though. I seriously do not know.

You know you’ve become a fan of a team, when you feel upset like hell, when your team loses. You know you’ve become a fan of a team, when you get into never-before superstitions for your team to hold on to that lead. You know you’ve become a fan of a team, when you defend a team to death, though having different opinions in your mind, which you never bring on to the argument. All these things started happening to me with Chelsea.

I cried for this team! My Best friend JP bought a Chelsea T- shirt for me in Bangkok and still u can see me with Blue T- shirt and supporting my team in front of TV , …

I hope this is the best answer I can give for my Pavithu’s question.

In my next year SSB interview, another guy asked me, “Do u Follow Hockey?”

I said yes confidently this time.

So who is your favourite player and whom do you think will win this year’s World cup?

I knew the answers but the interview didn’t click for several other reasons.

But no other game makes me so crazy like that of Football. I feel so ecstatic when I write this line.

Let the Blue flag fly high!!!

IS MY COMPANY OR ME “TAINTED”?Reply to Mr NARAYANAMOORTHI’s comments to media

My husband Vijay, who is an associate with satyam, shares his views on this Satyam Fiasco…GO on to read inorder to know a first person account

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure. You’ve got to find the treasure, so that everything you have learned along the way can make sense.

“I don’t want to work for a tainted company”,

“I don’t want to buy a tainted company “

Bit bugged with this word, I am working for Satyam and I completely understood the entire picture and I am feeling the pressure from every end. I am not going to stand for/against the Rajus or whomsoever in this situation.

But I am going to stand for Satyam the name, the brand, and going to work to gain the confidence and bring it back to the track where at least I will get the basic pay… (If I am not going to fired) Believe me I never ever loved any of my companies in my 5 years experience.

Yes let me put in this way. We are going to fight in tough terrain with giants like TCS, Infosys and Wipro are crouching tigers. We can’t afford to be hidden dragons. Its a do-or-die situation.  We lost our glory, we don’t have money , we are nothing , we are untouchable in this IT Field but please remember winning not always sitting in number one but whenever you fall raise and come to the number one. That’s called number one.

Working in this situation is going to sharpen our skills and we will be heroes.

You can call me as a crazy bugger but I am the music maker, and you can call me as  dreamer of the dream.

Wandering by lone sea breakers, and sitting by desolate streams. World losers and world forsakers, for whom the pale moon gleams. Yet I am the  movers and the shakers of the world forever it seems.

Mr Infy mentor,You set an example but do not comment . Every one knows the fact. Let Indian government and NASSCOM will take care of Indian IT space. You please  ask Chris to give presentaion with all our clients and try to bag the projects .  We are not dead we can rise …

There are hell lot of views you can give …About  PWC ,CA , Sarbanes-Oxley act 2002 … ETC .

Think about the investors, employees and their immediate family members.

Dont forget sir, your company was also black listed for  H1B Visa in 2006. Give some space for us.

Challenge us in Quality and Skills not before the media.

WE, ASSOCIATES , ARE NOT TAINTED, we all will continue to do the good work and we will be together expressing our  solidarity as never before.

Anyways I am not sure of getting salary in upcoming months but I’m very sure of submitting my deliverables to my client on time with good quality. There can be no compromise in that area. There are many Satyamites like me with the same attitude!!!

It’s a lesson for IT folks like me.

Will pen down more of my takeeaways here.

 Stay tuned!!!

Operation Wrath of God-Part 2

In PoK, terrorism is politically motivated violence directed against India. Most of the camps are situated here and training is given by ISI and Pak army, where religion, rather than being a source of hope and spiritual healing, is abused as a call to arms, as God is dragged once again onto the field of battle. These camps have many faces.

1)     Recruit the local poor people and brain wash them against India in the name of God and Religion.

2)     Train them and help them to intrude in to India

3)     Carry forward the terror operations in India with ISI Co- ordination

Indians are the soft target for those people where they check their skills in various protocols. From 1993 and every time one when terror strikes India, the mastermind of the ploy lies in the the same place (POK). Why do we need to hunt behind the name of the bullets?  Let us try to find the trigger and gun and eliminate them. If the USA has the right to hunt Osama for the 9/11 attacks, why don’t we have the same right?  Our security is in our hand not in the mercy of US. We, the people of India need to demand for the same.

It’s high time we reformed our internal security as well. The Army, NSG, Navy and armed forces are not formed to fight against terrorism and their hidden attempts to create mayhem around. A dedicated and independent force should be created which is irrespective and independent of the country’s politicians should be the need of the hour.  We need to make a new force and this one needs to be integrated well with the existing intelligence system. (Will write up about my idea about this in another blog)

The ideology of LeT is an extreme ideology and they are not fighting for the national aspirations of the Kashmir valley people. Rather, they are fighting to devastate India and I believe that the role of the international community is crucial in this. I believe that any compromise on terror, any compromise with extremists can lead to further disasters in India.

I know that it looks tempting and I know that the international community is eager to see a kind of understanding between Pak and India, and this wrong; this is a mistake. This is a big mistake; this is a huge mistake. There is use in the dialogue between India and the new Pak government, as they don’t have any control on these issues. This act is meticulously planned and sharply executed by ISI and PAK army top brass.

The only chance of success lies in the dual strategy of working with the moderates while unarming the extremists. Because Pakistan needs to understand also that there is no chance with these terrorists, with their extreme ideology. India should strike PoK through air and need to eliminate the master mind behind this attack by making this action this will bring the ISI and LeT to the table. We are not punishing this master mind because of their acts of terrorism but because there is no hope for the India and for Pak with these people on board. My personal opinion is that there is no need in bringing ISI and its sister concerns across negotiations and even a more stringent and cold-blooded action can be taken against them. Because there is no solid or reasonable demand with these terrorists. How can they fight in the name of religion while killing civilian population? There is no such noble cause with them as the modus operandi they have taken up is highly treacherous. We should be ready to eradicate them as well as their whole clan in this world. There is such a mission.

Want to know what is that operation?

Stay tuned!!!

Operation Wrath of God- Part 1

The whole nation feels like the citizens are in the clutches of terror. The common man’s security is in peril after the terror strike in Mumbai. It’s the right time to wake up; we should not let the fire diminish within us this time. Is the nation ready to tear the blatant face of terror? Aren’t we fed with the brave and patriotic milk of Bharat Mata? This “Operation Wrath of God” will be an eye-opener to all the citizens of India as to how to tackle some of its crisis and how to eradicate terrorism from the world. Is it right to call India’s 9/11? Never… Is it right to term a terror attack on a country which has never ever involved/accused any country’s internal affairs? This is totally an unjustifiable audacious act. Brutally condemnable. Read on…

This is an idea purely conceived by my husband Vijay, who is an ardent and die-hard Military aspirant and who believes in the integrity and sovereignty of the armed forces. This post is a tribute for those who gave their lives for India and also the brave hearts, who trust in India and believe in its Spirit and the country will flourish and come up despite the attacks.

Security has been beefed up across the various points in the India and the all the police and media on the run .But this will be there for couple of weeks then Dhoni and SRK movie will be in the first line .But as a citizen of India, we need to take firm step in the current situation by asking the government to follow the Israeli policy on terrorism we need to start a operation like “Operation Wrath of God”. We need to track down and eliminate those allegedly responsible for the Mumbai blast. Most of the master minds are enjoying the comfort in Pakistan. By elimination of those masterminds, we can prevent such kind of massacre in the future.

Are we fighting against a faceless enemy? NO. This is the right time to get back the PoK so called “AZAD KASHMIR” In terms of territory, the area of the state of Jammu and Kashmir is 222,236 sq kilometres while the area illegally occupied by Pakistan is 78,114 sq. kilometres. The areas occupied by Pakistan comprise so-called “Azad Kashmir” (referred to hereafter as PoK for Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) and the Northern Areas of Gilgit, Baluchistan and Hunza, etc. Pakistan does not trust the administration of POK to handle the Northern Areas which Islamabad considers strategically vital. The Northern Areas which have been incorporated into Pakistan are five times the size of the area designated as ‘Azad Kashmir’.

As a constitutional enigma, PoK is unique. It has been given the trappings of a country with a President, a Prime Minister and a Legislature of its own. But POK is neither a country nor a province.

From the time of the Karachi Agreement (April 28, 1949) the PoK President and the Prime Minister have enjoyed only titular powers. The Karachi Agreement between Pakistan, PoK and the Muslim Conference handed over matters related to defence, foreign policy, negotiations with the then UN Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP) and co-ordination of all affairs relating to Gilgit and Ladakh areas to Pakistan. Residual powers were kept vague. Pakistan retained control of the following subjects:

  1. Defence
  2. ‘foreign policy’ of POK
  3. Rehabilitation of refugees
  4. Control over all affairs of Gilgit and Ladakh.

We will talk about each one of them in detail in the upcoming posts.

Hubby’s Maiden Blog-Candid Review of MAMMA MIA :-)

I have been quite dormant with blogging due to the arrangements pertaining to my forthcoming marriage. From the time I have known my fiancee from February 2008, I have been literally pestering him to pen down an article in my blog but time hasn’t come for him till now. Yes… He has consented to write a review on his favorite and a well-cherished flick… Here comes…This one….Direct from VIJAY’s DIL SE….

 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I love musicals and I love ABBA, so I was really excited for this movie. I pretty much got what I deserved.

MAMMA MIA, a Broad way Smash hit back in the Silver Screen with some Vibrant performance by “Amanda Seyfried” (Guy u need to check her out she is cool !! I hope this line will be censored by my WifeJ) .Song simple one line story backed with ABBA’s Ever green songs and with some truly delightful performances from the likes of Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.

On a beautiful Greek island, 20 year old Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is planning her wedding. Raised by her single mother, Donna (Streep), Sophie has never met her father. By chance, she discovers from her mother’s old diaries about three possibilities as to who could be her dad. Hoping to have him give her away at the wedding, Sophie invites all three men (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard) to her wedding.

When Harry (Colin Firth), Sam (Brosnan), and Bill (Stellan Skarsgard) all arrive at the same time, Donna is of course shocked and overjoyed by seeing her old lovers again after such a long time. She turns to her two best friends, Tanya (Christine Baranaki) and Rosie (Julia Walters), for their support to just get through the wedding and weekend.

The film is backed by ABBA (1970) Bouncy Songs which will make u move , with wonderful performance by Seyfried (Honey Honey) and Streep (Wow in late 40 still she is making us move ) with her back singers Sonana and Dynamos , Brosanan is not a great singer but his voice is catchy in SOS song.

In the end Streep ,Sonana and Dynamos singing the Dancing queen song and saying bye and we do not have heart to move out… Our heart is asking for one more song Streep is asking do u want one more and singing the next number its wonderful.

The movie is full of energy and blast. Its indeed a visual and musical treat, If you r a Rock and Roll fan and ABBA fan then this is the one for you.  If you don’t like musicals or ABBA, you have no business seeing this movie. If this sounds like your cup of tea, you will have a good time.

I am tagged and that’s why I am gagged :-)

My close blogger mate Sree has tagged me with this simple scrap “Hey friend, You have been tagged!” Quite simple in carrying this forward but sorry that I took this long. The tag goes as follows:

Publish the 3 lines after the fifth line in page number 123 of the nearest book available to you.

Well, I have been thinking of this word, “nearest book” because I have been spending mist of my times amidst the heap of my favourite books.

Currently I am reading a Tamil book called “இது சிறகுகளின் நேரம்” (Idhu Siragugalin Neram-It’s the time for wings) written by Kavikko Abdul Rahman. Though I am not a regular reader of Tamil books, I happened to take a peek at this book when I stepped in to the bookshop last month to bag some of my favourite books.

For people who know me, they know me as a lover of fiction but the fact is I cherish non-fiction and philosophy more than anything else.  So I had no qualms in buying a book which I presumed as a brand realistic and simple-to-read-and-understand kinda book.

When I held this book in my hand and happened to see the cover of it, I did not what this book was all about. But one can promise, Certainly, Abdul Rahman’s writings will not disappoint anybody with his simple style in delivering intense thoughts in a graceful language. This is a book about self improvement and also helps to upgrade a person and cleanup his inner self and to become a pure soul with an embodiment of God Himself.

Here posting the three lines after the fifth line in page number 123 of “Idhu Siragugalin Neram”

Here comes the English translation of the above for the benefit of non-speakers of Tamil

Some people make a negative notion of whatever they hear.

Their perceptions harden in their heart along with the preconceived negative ideas.

When they ask for an opinion, they shade their old predetermined ideas with other’s opinion too.

I suggest everybody to go for this book and read with a calm and composed mindset at least once in his/her lifetime. I have no more testimonies for this one.

Tagging five more people!!!!!!!!

Here comes the very difficult part of it, I reassign this task to Sree again, as he has contacts with many bloggers than me! Sree! Kindly Excuse me, pal! J

Meet you all later in my next post!

Till then,

Chao!

MYRIAD of EMOTIONS-Part 1

For the past one month, literally, I have been out of touch with blogging with a lot of preoccupations and fit-for-nothing sort of worries etc etc , but there are many items I want to highlight I want to share with you all about some of my thoughts…

I shuffled and randomized some romantic numbers in my RM player to avalanche my force of thoughts. It has always been my practice.

  1. I have been a positive gal at all times or at least I can say in majority of times I am a kinda person who used to give importance to what my loved ones stress! This aspect has been taken advantage of these days and the people around me make a puppet out of me. I am petrified and alarmed at this situation. I am forced to conclude from my within “Never trust anybody”. Very sad, but this has wounded my heart pathetically. I am learning to be resilient but at times the elasticity limit breaks miserably and I go wild. Trying to mend my ways! Hoping to succeed ASAP!
  2. With the marriage date moving very close to less than 3 months, shopping spree is yet to began in full swing and when I think of the real-time “MARRIAGE” I have to accept, it is really scaring… When I think of the responsibilities, people management, family based issues etc etc, all these things giving me sleepless nights these days. Despite some assurance from Vijay, I am still wondering how I am going to make it.
  3. I am so happy that I learnt some traditional cuisine from my mother. She has always been complaining about me from time immemorial for my indifference and lethargy towards cooking. Now that I myself can see the difference, I have improved considerably in cooking and jotting down some important points from coconut chutney to cucumber salad in my recipe book and my mom is happy now.
  4. I got a chance to read many books this month. One of the marvellous books, still I am wondering how I missed it in my early days, is Ponniyin Selvan. Now I had completed 4 parts and some 15 chapters in 5th part. Wow! What a book! Excellent narration and a travelogue full of mystery, poetry, romance and above all a lot of history with a wave of bravery and valour in it.  I am cherishing the epic and day-by-day I am more inclined to re-read some of Kalki’s other famous titles Sivakamiyin sabatham and Parthiban Kanavu, which I have read already in my college days.
  5. I had always loved to hear “inspiration” or “patch-up” talks from Vijay, When he starts “When it comes to relationships………..” surely it’s going to be a minimum 15-minute-lecture but I had loved to hear some sensible and advices of its truest kind from him especially our terms go to ebb or during bumpy circumstances. This month I had heard many such talks from him. Though I pretend to him “it’s boring” or “Hmmmmmm Started!” he goes calmer and says “Relax!” I had always loved that! J
  6. I still dwell on my honeymoon days with Cognizant. Still I am nostalgic about them. Those bubbly training days, those crunchy-munchy lunch times, those break time leg pulling, extensive teasing, hard times we managed in work,  unforgettable learning experiences, blogging as an art and a hobby and my cheerful blogging pals and above all, the nice friendships I managed to get! It would be on the lower side when I say I think about ‘em 5 times a day. CTS! I love you and I miss u!

Rest of the myriad, will continue later!

Till then!

Chao!
